About Ahuva Fischer

An operations consultant who kept finding that the problems she was hired to fix started with a hiring decision. So she built a service for the hiring.

Ahuva Fischer is an organizational health and operations consultant in Jerusalem, Israel, working since 2020 with founders who have built a team and are still doing everything themselves. Strategic Hiring Partners is her hiring service: define the role, find the person, onboard them, for a flat fee, in English and Hebrew.

The first hiring decision

At 23, Ahuva was a junior developer sitting in a Jerusalem hotel, interviewing candidates for a three-person development team because there was nobody else to do it. One candidate needed the job badly and interviewed quietly. One was confident and about to leave for law school. One, her own age, showed ownership, made decisions and could explain the technical work clearly. Ahuva was torn about who deserved the opportunity.

The lesson she took from that room is the one she still teaches owners: "Hiring isn't about deciding who deserves the opportunity most. It's about representing the business I am working for." The team grew to ten. She trained the developers she hired, built a training programme for new ones and moved the team to agile.

Why hiring, and why now

In her consulting work the pattern repeated: a project stuck for months, roles nobody could describe, an owner who dreaded the business they used to love. Pull the thread and there was a hire that should not have happened, or a hire that never happened. One client kept a designer who had cost him three clients because "where would I even find someone like that". They did not touch the designer. They worked on hiring: how to interview, how to read a resume, how to onboard. He made one great hire in another department, and the designer was replaced two months later.

"If you can't hire well, every unproductive employee looks irreplaceable." Strategic Hiring Partners exists to make owners able to hire well, with Ahuva doing it alongside them the first time.

How she works

  • Process first. She fell in love with process at 23 through the Project Management Institute's body of knowledge, then agile and scrum, and has applied it from tech teams to businesses far outside tech. "When work gets chaotic, you don't necessarily need to work harder. Sometimes you need a better way of organizing the work."
  • One page, not a binder. Roles, plans and decisions written short enough that people read them.
  • Honest on the call. Including "you do not need this", and "this candidate is good but not right".
  • Two languages. She is Israeli, works in Hebrew and English, and networks in both communities in Jerusalem.

Talks and community

Ahuva takes part in business communities in Jerusalem and online, including Temech's Frum Women in Business events, and has an upcoming hiring webinar with Nefesh B'Nefesh. If you run a business group that would like a session on hiring, get in touch.

What this site does not claim

Strategic Hiring Partners is new as a named service, so there are no client reviews for hiring work on this site yet. Ahuva will not publish a review that does not exist, a success rate she has not measured, or a time-to-hire she cannot promise. What you get is the method, the person and a flat fee agreed before the start.
